Ohariu Hills is one of Wellington’s most iconic venues. Situated only 25 minutes from the heart of Wellington, Ohariu Hills offers the convenience of urban proximity with the charm and feel of a remote country venue.

Initially built as an operational woolshed on Huiawa, the family sheep and beef farm, Ohariu Hills has since been developed through many iterations into the striking and well-appointed venue it is today.

Nestled peacefully amongst the rugged hills, the venue boasts a captivating outlook towards the western skyline providing breathtaking sunset views. The natural environment provides the perfect backdrop for your celebrations.

Ohariu Hills only offers a select number of weddings per year, and guarantees you will have sole private use of the venue for the duration of your event.

Our Vision

We pride ourselves on helping clients create the wedding of their dreams, collaborating to ensure every detail is thought of and the day runs smoothly and calmly. Romantics at heart, we are in the business because we love love and our aim is for you to be able to relax and enjoy your celebrations, both during the lead up and of course on the day itself.

Our Team

Ohariu Hills is a true family business; Mother-daughter team Jude and Georgia oversee the day to day running of the Ohariu Hills and the behind the scenes logistics. Jude will also guide you through any viewings, and help oversee your celebrations on the day. Husband, Greg, maintains the beautiful grounds and private gardens, and son Hamish runs Huiawa, a sheep and beef farm.

As a team we each thrive in our individual roles and work well together to deliver your day however you envision, aiming to minimise stress and maximise your enjoyment of, and presence at, your day.
