What we offer:

We have a fully sized commercial kitchen making things easy for your catering team. We have partnered with three exceptional caterers allowing you to choose based on your preferences and requirements:
These caterers all offer full service packages meaning they provide food service, staffing, hire-ware (crockery, cutlery and glassware), and event management. This allows you the flexibility to choose a catering style and budget that best suits your vision.

Ohariu HIlls is a fully licensed venue offering full bar service when you select one of our partner caterers. We have a standard selection of beer and wine, but if you have something particular in mind we can arrange to have this on hand.
We allow BYO wine with corkage fee of $10 per bottle. Glassware is all provided with no extra charge.
Clients have the choice of a set bar tab, or cash bar style.

We have the capacity to comfortable seat 200 people, or host 250 for a cocktail style event. We can also modify our the venue and create smaller spaces to host more intimate celebrations. We are confident we can tailor the space to suit whatever size group you are planning to host.

Ohariu Hills boasts a large and versatile design, meaning we have an abundance of options for how to host your event.
Ceremony Spaces:
Our prime outdoor ceremony space is under the iconic rustic pergola, overlooking the hills and valleys of the farm. Guests are seated on our well maintained lawn and an aisle is created from the deck, down the steps and across the lawn.
If the weather isn’t cooperating we have an equally special indoor option with beautiful natural light and our large feature fireplace, providing a romantic and striking option.
Reception Options:
We can host smaller more intimate weddings in one half of the building, or expand to our full 200 seated capacity by opening the Woolshed room.

Ohariu Hills is a fully equipped venue. We have a full commercial kitchen, pristine and pleasant lavatories, a fully stocked built in bar, chillers for food and drinks, furniture, heating, three phase power, a large covered verandah, and an emergency generator in case of power outages (thanks to the Wellington weather!).
In addition, we have a complete sound system inside and out, as well as a portable audio system for the ceremony and speeches.
We aim to make your day as easy as possible by providing the large scale, functional facilities that allow your day to flow seamlessly.

We have a large car park so guests are welcome to drive. All cars must be vacated by the end of your event.
We also highly recommend using busses or shuttles to transport guests in an out of the city and we are happy to help you arrange this.

Ohariu Hills is decorated with furniture and artwork that blends with, and compliments, the natural country environment; leather couches, rustic wine barrels etc. We provide dining tables and chairs for dinner, as well as white chairs for guests to sit on the lawn during the ceremony.
If you would like to bring in your your own furniture and decorations we can discuss the easiest ways to do this, and they must be removed by the end of your event.

On the day of your event we provide our Ohariu Hills Event Manager to help seamlessly coordinate your day.
In the lead up to your event, our admin team will be liaising with you to coordinate all the final details, collaborating with you on your run sheet and ensuring that both you and our Event Manager are confident and happy with the plan and details.
Our catering partners include all service staff for food and drink as well as general event staff.

The Cottage is available to book at an additional cost, allowing you to stay onsite. This quaint studio cottage surrounded by beautiful private gardens can be used for getting ready, or as a close place to retire and rest after the celebrations are over.
Packages
Classic Wedding Package
Our most popular offering allows you exclusive access to the venue for the day of your wedding and includes:
Nine hour event time (usually 3 pm - 12pm)
Access from 9am to set up and decorate (all furniture arranged as per your choice prior to this)
Event Manager to coordinate and oversee your wedding on the day
Use of all Ohariu Hills decorations and facilities (details provided in our Wedding Information Pack which you can download below)
Access to private gardens for photos, as well as the remainder of the venue and grounds
All guests to be vacated by 12pm midnight.
An arranged time for a ceremony rehearsal
Intimate Celebration Package
Create the perfect atmosphere for a smaller celebration at hosting up to 40 guests over an afternoon.
Four hour event time (usually 12 - 4pm)
Access from 9am to set up and decorate (all furniture arranged as per your choice prior to this)
Event Manager to coordinate and oversee your wedding on the day
Use of all Ohariu Hills decorations and facilities (details provided in our Wedding Information Pack which you can download below)
Access to private gardens for photos, as well as the remainder of the venue and grounds
Available in off peak times only e.g. Sunday - Thursday
